Geo Cesar, DPT

For 20 years Geo has been helping others transform struggles, stress, physical strain
and energetic stagnancy into focused whole body harmony, mental clarity, and uplifting peak experiences. After going through his own health challenges, collegiate sports injuries, and overcoming panic attacks naturally, he realized the importance of combining movement therapies with breath, mindset, and energy medicine for optimal health and performance. Geo learned early on that health is our own responsibility and includes not just the absence of disease but the presence, integration and attunement of the body, mind and spirit. At a young age Geo became a Reiki Practitioner and his experiences led him to want to devote his life to helping others in the health field. After treating many clients, traveling and exploring Ayurvedic medicines, and a brief stint
playing professional soccer…. a synchronistic meeting inspired Geo to take his passions and hands on healing approach to become a physical therapist. In 2005, he graduated with a Doctorate degree from Emory University in Physical Therapy and
immediately specialized in non-surgical approaches to spinal care working alongside Rich Nyberg at the Atlanta Back Clinic. In the ensuing years he worked with thousands of people to move with less pain and more mobility while delving deeper into the importance of getting to the root of the problem rather than treating only symptoms. Geo
moved to San Diego in 2010 where he opened and directed a multidisciplinary physical therapy clinic for 8 years . During this time he was also on staff as an Integrative Physical Therapist at the world renowned Chopra Center. Since then he has taught multiple yoga teacher trainings, developed continuing education courses for therapists and health care providers in Marma Manual Therapy and Yoga Balance. Clinically, Geo performs a thorough assessment through both a physical, energetic and personal lens to determine how to best empower each individual in achieving their PT and rehabilitation goals. Geo believes in collaborative partnerships in medicine and that best outcomes occur when we see ourselves as multi-dimentional in nature and take full responsibility for our own health and healing so we can make conscious changes in lifestyle and behaviors that will reflect balance and harmony on all levels. As a medical professional and educator, he is driven by the conviction that the capacity for dynamic change, radical healing, and joyful living is available to all of us. Geo is inspired to share the highest wisdom teachings available to help empower individuals in accessing their own inner healer/intuition. In his insightful, compassionate, and inspiring style, he educates the general public and medical professionals in conscious living & self mastery.
He is the founder of Integrative Medicine Academy with a mission to promote optimal wellbeing through higher learning, awareness and holistic health solutions. He has authored a number of books and education manuals on ayurveda and marma therapy, back care and physical therapy, yoga, and balance. He is inspired to carry on and share the important work and wisdom of his many teachers. When not working he loves playing guitar, spending time in nature, riding bikes, meditating and exploring non ordinary states of awareness, relaxing with his wife and playing with his kids. He
currently loves residing with his family in San Diego.
